Why two pieces and why 4-up 4-down
A single-piece 8P8C lets the eight wires fan in one plane. NEXT rises as soon as the last twist is opened. The second piece is the load bar. Operators dress T568A or T568B through the eight holes — four high, four low — so the pairs stay staggered up to the gold blades. That is the usual Cat6 UTP geometry on a two-piece crystal head. The bar on this model is tooled for insulation OD 1.0–1.1 mm. Thicker foam-PE Cat6A conductors will not enter; thinner 28 AWG patch wire will rattle. How to terminate
Strip the jacket, keep pair twist to the bar, load 4-up 4-down to T568A or B, seat the bar in the plug, crimp with an 8P8C die. No shield fork, no metal can. A Cat7 shielded die is unnecessary and may crush this UTP body. Indoor dry commercial is the default. Typical class: about 1.5 A / 125 VAC signal, 750+ mating cycles.

Frequently asked questions
What does 4-up 4-down mean?
The load bar has two rows: four conductors above, four below. That stagger is the two-piece Cat6 UTP layout. It is not two separate plugs.
Cat5e, Cat6, or Cat7?
UTP two-piece geometry is for Cat5e and Cat6 unshielded cords. It is not a Cat7 STP plug. Test the finished cord; the plug alone is not a category certificate.
Will 1.0–1.1 mm fit my cable?
Measure conductor insulation OD, not the jacket. Cat6 UTP 23–24 AWG is often in this window. Cat6A foam and 22 AWG Cat7 pair insulation are usually larger — use a larger-hole bar or a shielded plug.
3-prong gold with nickel sides?
Three prongs grip the copper. Gold on the face, nickel on the sides for wear and tarnish. Same contact family as HXPLUG telephone long-body plugs, in an 8P8C nose.
Shielded cable?
No. This body has no can and no fork ground. Use the Cat7 metal-can plug for S/FTP.
